Anime That Was Popular in South America 1980s Cute Girl

Anime comes in all shapes and sizes. So do the characters. The diversity of these characters will make your head spin. Throughout the years, this trend of anime traps has gone crazy. However, let's go through storytime first!

The world of anime is too diverse to explain. With such unique characters, traps offer one of the most 'out of the ordinary concepts we've ever seen in the series. But what are the reactions? Some anime fans love the fact that there are trap anime characters. Moreover, some would be totally disappointed due to the fact that their ANIME WAIFU turned out to be a boy?

In the US, it's common to see 'Drag Queens' moving among all the people we see in our everyday lives. The Drag Queens have beautiful faces and bodies only to realize that 'she' is a 'he' in reality. Hence, the confusing gender has made me crazy over time too!

But why is trap culture so popular? Well, in Japan, homosexuality isn't that cool. Not many people accept the fact that homosexuality should be normalized. However, in anime, they can target that and try to make Japan accept and move towards a more liberal direction.

In anime, we see a similar 'Trap' culture where you might think that a character is a girl, but in reality, that person might be a boy. The whole confusing gender thing when it comes to anime characters is anime traps.

Table of Contents

47. Hayate Ayasaki (Combat Butler)

Hayate Ayasaki is the protagonist of the Combat Butler. On first look, no one would suspect he's a boy because of his appearance. But Hayate doesn't even behave or present himself as a boy. His short blue hair is very feminine, and his eyes look girly.

He seems shy and pretty much has all the characteristics of a girl. And if that wasn't enough, he even dresses as a maid. No one in his right mind would think Hayate is a boy. The reason for his girly look might be his age, as he is only 15 years old and hasn't gone through puberty yet.

46. Kaoru Hanase (Tamako Market)

Kaoru Hanase is a character in the anime Tamako Market. He has been working as a florist in the shop known as Florist Princess in the Usagiyama district.

He is very polite and presents himself as a gentle and caring individual, the ideal florist behaviour.

Kaoru has what some call a peaceful aura surrounding him, which makes everyone in his presence happy. He's known to give the prettiest flowers to Tamako's family!

Though he's a boy, his appearance says otherwise. He has long blonde hair, which even girls get jealous of, and if that wasn't enough, he dresses in a totally pink outfit with sunflowers on his dress. Combine this girly appearance with his girly demeanour, and you have yourself one of the best traps in anime.

45. Ana Gram (Phi Brain)

Ana Gram may sound like a weird name, but wait till you know what he does in college. Ana Gram is a student at the Root Academy and holds the title of Da Vinci for his exceptional artistry. He is a boy who looks like a girl, hence his mention in this list.

With long brown hair and his choice of beautiful gowns, Ana can trick anyone into believing that he's actually a girl, and he doesn't mind people referring to him as a girl. Even his voice sounds really girly. The weird thing about him is his art; he talks to spirits and draws what they ask him.

44. Ritsu Sohma (Fruits Basket)

Ritsu Sohma is a minor character in the Fruits Basket anime and is currently in his 3rd year of college. He looks very much like a woman and behaves like one too. Though he's a trap, he doesn't dress as a girl because he likes it.

Ristu, or Ri-Chan as his friends call him, dresses in a woman's attire because he thinks that way he doesn't face pressure from society. He doesn't even care if people mistake him for a girl, his low self-esteem and shy behaviour make people perceive him as a girl. However, after regaining confidence in himself, he cuts off his hair and starts living as a man!

43. Hasuta (Haiyore! Nyaruko-san)

Hasuta is one of the main characters in the show and also an extra-terrestrial ( alien ). His father is a rich man, owner of a big entertainment company. Hasuta is known to be pretty shy and doesn't like to socialize very often.

He isn't the most obvious trap, but his blonde hair, which falls on one side of his shoulder, is enough to make anyone believe that he's a girl. He's petite and has a sweet girly voice. All these features come together to present Hasuta as a girl!

42. Kazuto Kirigaya (Sword Art Online)

Kirito is the protagonist of the trendy anime Sword art online. He definitely wasn't a trap character at the beginning of the show. Still, after a while, he started to look more feminine. His hair is really long, and his attire also looks unisex. The change is pretty clear in the manga, as it has been clearly stated that Kirito dresses like a girl in this part of the show!

Kirito never was a muscular guy, so when his hair length increased, he started to look like a girl, and more often, he took advantage of this look. He is seen acting Kawaii in many scenes in the anime just to get away. Kirito's new look caused a lot of noise in the SAO community.

41. Fisheye (Sailor Moon SuperS'')

Sailor Moon was definitely a girly show. Everyone knows that! So, it doesn't come as a surprise that the male characters in the show look girly as well. Fisheye is a member of the Dead Moon Circus and looks very much like a girl.

He is often seen wearing a blue jumpsuit-like dress, and when he isn't wearing those clothes, he still dresses more like a girl. His blue hair is fashioned into a pony-tail like style, which rests on his shoulders. This, with his other features like his frail body and big girly eyes, gives him a pretty girly look. He probably is one of the earliest traps in anime!

40. Hato Kenjirou (Genshiken Nidaime)

Hato is one of the last Genshiken members and is a pretty calm and composed individual. He looks like a frail guy in the anime and gets flustered pretty quickly when he is embarrassed.

When he cross-dresses, his personality changes. He becomes shyer and acts more girly than before. No one would think he's a boy. When he dresses as a girl, he looks pretty cute, and his girly traits from the back help him blend in. He dresses as a girl to attend the Genshiken, not because he likes to.

hato genshiken

39. Tsukimiya Ringo (Uta No Prince-sama)

Tsukimiya owns his cross-dressing look; he's known as a cross-dressing idol and is the A-class advisor. Tsukimiya's personality can pretty much be summed up in one word, Sassy!

Tsukimiya holds the title of the cross-dressing idol, so it is no surprise he is good at changing his appearance drastically. He has long pink hair and big beautiful blue eyes. His dressing sense is excellent as he looks just like a woman when he cross-dresses; no one would doubt his gender from his appearance!

tsukimiya uta no prince

38. Hime Arikawa (Himegoto)

Hime isn't a normal boy; he was forced to dress as a girl to pay off his creditors. This sums up his situation at his school; he is a boy but is forced to be a girl.

This may sound cruel, and you might think he'll be bullied, but he actually looks really great as the opposite sex. His frail body and timid face make him look girly enough to pass as a girl after donning a wig. He wears two pony-tails, due to which he looks charming as a girl. To begin with, his voice was already pretty girly, so he had no hard time staying as a girl!

hime arikawa

37. Hideri Kanzaki (Blend S)

Hideri Kanzaki is probably one of the most well-known trap anime characters. His face appears on every anime website and page. His dream is to become the cutest idol in the world, and for that, he is even ready to give up on his family profession, which is farming.

He has teal-coloured eyes and has a timid body, which is perfect as he wants to look cute and become an idol one day. He works as a waitress to fulfil his needs till he becomes an idol!

hideri blend s

36. Yukimura Kusunoki (Haganai)

Yukimura is a strange case; despite his cute and feminine looks, he never thought he resembled a girl. He likes to pretend he's really masculine but in reality, he looks very girly. He has short hair, but they are fashioned in a girly manner; However, he's obsessed with manliness; he dresses very much like the opposite sex.

He is pretty low on self-esteem and doesn't mind people giving him a hard time. Also, he is rather shy, which is a common trait every trap character on the list shares. In his school uniform, he looks very much like a girl. He doesn't have any friends as boys feel weird around him, they treat him like a girl, and he doesn't like that!

yukimura haganai

35. Taro Sado (MM!)

Taro is a self-proclaimed tough guy, a macho guy. He always thinks of himself as a muscular and bulky guy who is pretty manly. But when he is made to crossdress, his appearance changes drastically.

He flings a ribbon and becomes a girl, just like in sailor moon. His girly avatar is pretty beautiful, and the other girls in the show use his looks to further their goals. Though Taro often becomes a girl, this doesn't mean he isn't a pervert. In fact, he is one of the most perverted characters on this list!

34. Rolan Cehack (The Gundam)

Rolan is a pretty romantic and loyal individual. He never loses hope in his comrades and believes in their powers. He is very good at adapting to difficult situations; due to this, he is seen dressed as female many times in the anime. When he dawns on the avatar of a female, he goes by Laura Rolla!

He is probably one of the most beautiful traps on this list. His skin colour is darker than any other trap on the list, giving them a unique look. When dressed as a woman, his white hair is often seen fashioned in a bun at the back of his head, and he also becomes really girly!

33. Kei Yuuki (Moyashimon)

Kei is a freshman at the agricultural university in Tokyo. His family owns and runs a sake brewery where he works as well. But his work is pretty different from standard waiter stuff.

He dresses like a gothic waitress in the brewery. His friend notices him but doesn't realize he actually dresses as a female until the end of the episode. Kei, when dressed as a female, has long black hair and wears gothic makeup and clothes!

kei moyashimon

32. Yuuta Sasaki (The cuticle detective)

In the anime, Yuuta is the secretary of Hiroshi Inaba. Despite his appearance being girly, he actually is a boy. Though he is actually a boy, he acts too girly; he often wears a cute smile on his face and is always happy.

He is the textbook definition of an anime little sister. Though he doesn't think he looks like a girl, his demeanour and attire say otherwise. He often wears short pants which look girly. His frail body is what gives him a girly look!

yuuta cuticle detective

31. Akira Sonohara (Nana Maru San Batsu)

Akira is a third-year student at the Sekigawata Middle School; he's pretty energetic and athletic and likes to win every time he plays some sport. His skills aren't limited to sports. He once beat up two delinquents who were trying to be a nuisance. Though he's athletic and strong in nature, his petite body and long hair make him look girly.

He also is seen cross-dressing many times in the anime. Still, without him knowing he's actually cross-dressing, you would never mistake him for a boy. His demeanour is girly as well, so there's no chance you would've known he's actually a boy!

akira

30. Kaoutaro Araki (Denpa Kyoushi)

Next up we have a gamer; Araki is a student at the Ichou Academy and looks very much like a girl. In fact, his classmates didn't even know he was actually a boy till very later; even the audience was kept in the dark about Artaki's true gender. It's not a surprise many didn't see this coming; Araki looks and acts like a girl, a gamer girl to be precise.

With long hair and an affinity towards cute clothing and items, Araki is a girl. Araki kept the secret because he was afraid that all his friends would judge him. But when he told the truth to everyone, surprisingly, everyone took it pretty well, and the school even gave him permission to stay as a girl in school. Koyomi made it compulsory for him to wear girl's clothes because he was too cute to be male!

He has taken a liking for gaming, MMORPGs, to be precise. He often spends a lot of time levelling up his fictional character!

koutarou

29. Kurapika (Hunter x Hunter)

While watching Hunter x Hunter (2011), Kurapika was a character that made me confused throughout the series. In the 2011 version, Kurapika has a glow in his scarlet eyes whenever he experiences pain or any extreme emotion.

Initially, he wore a blue tabard that was heavily decorated and didn't show a sign of him being a man or a woman. Hence, this intrigued me throughout the series to find out that Kurapika was a BOY! It's more like my whole childhood was a lie.

Kurapika is such a tough character with one of the strongest demeanours in any Hunter x Hunter character. But honestly, looking at him for the first time, no one can tell from that beautiful face whether he's a man or a woman. Therefore, I started off the list with one of my most personal trap experiences so far. It's confusing! However, Kurapika is one of the best Anime trap characters out there

kurapika

28. Haku (Naruto)

When we talk about anime traps, Haku is one of the earliest cross-dressed anime characters out there. Way back in 2002, Naruto was still ahead of its time. The most surprising thing about Haku was that not only he surprised all of the viewers, but Naruto himself was stunned to know that Haku wasn't a girl. He instantly admired the beauty of Haku and approached him without knowing that he would have to swordfight sometime later on in the anime.

However, Haku is brutal when it comes to dropping the truth bomb. While Naruto thought that he was even more beautiful than Sakura, Haku, without any effort, corrected Naruto, and everyone lost their minds. Unlike other assassins, Haku is calm and composed, giving off a feminine vibe. Hence, we can say that he is one of the most surprising and best anime traps we've seen in any anime.

haku naruto

27. Ruka Urushibara (Steins Gate)

Ruka Urushibara is one of the characters whose gender we've never judged. Looking from the outside, his looks and feel are feminine. Hence, the thought of a trap didn't come to my mind. He's a slim and tall guy with a feminine appearance.

But what put a mask on him was the fact that Ruka is very emotional and sensitive. Even a sudden problem would make him go all soft, resulting in him exerting the feminine vibes. Moreover, things go to the next level when we talk about cross-dressing. I reckon you to judge with a neutral mind.

Also, you will get attracted to Ruka too! The main character of Steins Gate, Rintaro, described him as a person who's more girly than any girl, and more feminine than any female, in a game.

ruka steins gate

26. Tetra (Log Horizon)

Tetra makes it at the 29th spot in our list of the 31+ CRAZY Anime Traps you didn't SEE coming! Despite his feminine looks and overall girly behaviour, Tetra is a guy. Moreover, the story of Log Horizon is geared towards the Japanese video game players that are stuck in a video game.

But here's the most surprising thing about Tetra. A lot of people don't even realize that Tetra is a guy even though he says a lot of 'Boku' in the series that is a Japanese guy's way of saying 'I'. Hence, he is one of those characters you'd never discover to be a trap until you see it for yourself. Definitely one of the best Anime traps out there.

25. Saika Totsuka (Oregairu)

Saika has wholesome vibes with a feminine appearance and a soft attitude. He is often misinterpreted as a girl throughout the series, which I found to be a little funny. Having so many instances where I've personally experienced too many traps, I had this one right. For some weird reason, I always thought that Saika was a guy, initially.

Saika loves sports and when it's tennis, you wouldn't stand a chance. Moreover, he has great leadership qualities that made him less uncomfortable throughout the series. The best thing about this trap character is that he was able to motivate most of the characters solely by using his beauty in the dressing of a girl.

Another excellent example of anime Traps that you didn't see coming.

saika oregairu

24. Shirogane Naoto (Persona 4 The Animation)

The prodigy detective of the Persona 4 series is a straight-up trap. I bet you didn't see that coming, especially looking at that photo. You just got played. Naoto is a reverse trap! Meaning that he's a she this time. While most traps are guys pretending to be a girl, this time it's the exact opposite.

Naoto loves to act like a guy that makes her look like a guy too. However, in reality, she's a girl who's fulfilling her part as a female detective in the persona series. Naoto is often getting into harmful situations while fighting crime to solve the cases. However, with her confusing attitude and cross-dressing, she has successfully managed to fool most of the main characters into thinking that Naoto is a boy.

shirogane naoto

23. Hideyoshi Kinoshita ( Baka & Test)

In the anime, Hideyoshi looks similar to his sister. The only difference I could find was in the hairstyles. Most of the time, Hideyoshi wears a male school uniform with a blue tie and wears hair clips to separate his bangs from coming forward.

At first glance, I would've never guessed that Hideyoshi was a boy if it wasn't for the school uniform. In the anime, he is described as one of the rarest people found in the classroom. Hence, this makes him rather transparent, and we can figure out why he always gets bullied by his classmates.

hideyoshi

22. Seishiro Tsugumi (Nisekoi)

Tsugumi is another reverse trap anime character on our list. She looks more like a beautiful young man, resulting in her being misinterpreted as a guy. Even when she was just a child, everyone used to think that Tsugumi was a boy. However, it's Tsugumi who loves to wear boyish dresses, and the results are always the same.

The life of a trap is tough. Constantly going through the misery of being misjudged.

tsugumi

21. Rui Ninomiya (Gatchaman)

If you ever want to confuse yourself into thinking that a girl is a programmer. Just don't (no puns intended). Because Load Galax has fooled so in the Gatchaman series. Moreover, he's a programmer and looks just like a girl from head to toe. Therefore, the whole vibe he gives is feminine. While most of the time he wears men's clothing.

Rui sees the world as flawed and wants to improve it by providing his willpower and expertise. He's a young match with black hair and wears a light blue coat. However, when he cross-dresses, things change right from the surface. Putting on a blonde wig to disguise his true self and save Japan from becoming what he calls 'FLAWED'.

rui

20. Pico (Boku No Pico)

Yes! We are going all in. Boku no Pico is Japanese hentai that has destroyed the initial anime watching experience of thousands of anime fans. It has become more of a joke at this point. It is also known as the world's first shotacon anime, and the main intent was to introduce this genre of hentai to the viewers.

19. Aoi Futaba (You're Under Arrest)

Aoi Futaba is an officer who joined the Bokuto Station in the series. In fact, he was mistaken to be a girl, initially and I was stunned to know that wasn't the case. Even in the image above, you can see that there's nothing that looks like a 'BOY'. But the most bizarre thing about traps is that they are even more romantic than actual girls.

I lost my last brain cell when AOI said 'my body is male but my heart is female. AOI has pushed his female persona to a level that everyone around him, despite knowing that he's a guy, still teaches him like a girl. Even though Aoi is a boy, at the end of the first season, it was revealed that Aoi likes boys. Now we can figure the whole situation about what's going on.

18. Shiota Nagisa (Assassination Classroom)

In Assassination Classroom, a strange creature destroys the half-moon and the moon is permanently a half-moon now. However, this creature named Koro Sensei has become the homeschool teacher of the assassination classroom and he has challenged the students to kill him if they don't want to lose their world as well. In this never-ending confusion, our main character Shiota Nagisa is one of the most cold-blooded anime characters we've ever seen.

Nagisa looks just like a girl on the surface. However, it was later revealed when he took bath with other students that he was a boy indeed. Everyone was stunned, and so was me. I had this gut feeling that Nagisa was a girl. However, this is another instance where my creative brain didn't work out.

17. Shidou Mariya (Maria Holic)

The main character named Kanako transferred to a new catholic school to find her true love due to the fact that her parents fell in love in the same place. However, she isn't interested in men, and therefore, she is looking for a woman to drive pleasure in her life.

At the first glance, Mariya is a beautiful, charming, and rather feminine looking boy. Everything from his voice, physical structure, to the dress looks like a girl. However, there's a reason he's acting this way. Personally, throughout the anime, I've been constantly forgetting that Mariya was a boy. A TOTAL CHAOS!

mariya

16. Aoi Hyoudou (Kaichou wa Maid-sama!)

Aoi has very girly looking features with big blue eyes that can deceive anyone into thinking that he's a girl. With those long eyelashes, feminine hair, and a curly wig, everyone is fooled into thinking that Aoi is a girl.

As an idol in the anime, she wears a blond wig with girl dresses that makes him look just like a female.

15. Kuranosuke Koibuchi (Princess Jellyfish)

Kurako is the alias Kuranosuke uses when he wants to hide his true personality and gender. He is the wealthy son of a political family who loves to hide his true identity.

kuronasuke

14. Kashima Yuu (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun)

Things get exciting when we have reverse traps on our list. In this story, Yuu is a girl cross-dressed as a man, often called a prince because she knows how to win the ladies' hearts. Always there to win everyone's hearts and make them go 'WOW'.

kashima yuu

13. Kikuchi Makoto (The iDOLMASTER)

The anime has a group of 13 girls who are living competitively to make sure that they will become the next big idol. However, they face a lot of problems right from the starting of the series. There are countless obstacles, but these girls wouldn't flinch no matter how harsh the situation becomes. But what happens?

Even though she's been deceiving others with her charming personality, it still doesn't change the fact that she's severely interested in girly things and wants to transition her career to a more girl's side. I guess girl power is a real thing, eh?

kikuchi

12. Felix Argyle (Re: Zero)

The next anime trap character is from a series called Re: Zero. This Neko is one of the coolest ones we've seen in any anime. Felix has a cat-like personality and overall looks. Even though he looks cute in his cat outfit, it still doesn't change the fact that he's a guy. He loves to hear people call him Felix chan that has been heard in the anime a couple of times.

However, behind that beautiful smile is a past that is dark and bleak. You wouldn't want to know something like that in a fun list like we are incorporating today.

felix

11. Kino (Kino's Journey)

Kino is the main character of his journey. While she looks, walks, and talks like a boy, she's a trap girl. A young, beautiful, calm, and composed girl who follows stoic philosophies to make her life better. Due to cross-dressing, her gender is constantly mistaken.

Despite cross-dressing, her understanding of things is on a whole other level, making her one of the best reverse traps on our list.

kino

10. Jun Watarase (Happiness)

Jun Watarase is one of the leading characters in the series. What makes him unique is his gender. He is biologically a male but would love to be a female, making him a transgender. If we talk about his appearance, his looks totally deny the fact that he's transgender. Initially, I couldn't believe that such a dazzling beauty would turn out to be a guy.

In the anime series, Jin is shown to be full of life, always smiling, and a positive person. With such a beautiful personality, he is shown to care about everyone, especially his friends. But what's most weird was the fact that every other girl would refer to him as a 'She'. This was so surprising to see as this is probably the only anime on our list that didn't give our character any tough time.

Jun is also seen to use the ladies restroom, and he has even taken a bath with other girls! Talk about a spicy life.

jun watarase

9. Hotaru Tachibana (Aoharu x Machine Gun)

It seems like reverse traps are getting popular too. Hotaru Tachibana is the main character of this series who is the president of the student council. He's tall for a girl but as she has the whole trap thing going on, 5'7 isn't that impressive at all. At first glance, it looked like she was totally a boy. I mean, just look at the picture that we've attached above.

Moreover, what's wrong with an old fashioned tomboy who's actually a girl? Nothing is cuter than that. When she joins the Toy Gun Club in her school, that's where the interesting story comes into play. When we talk about Hotaru's personality, she's more of a strong-willed and mentally tough tomboy who values justice more than anything. She has an energetic nature and it figures the whole plot too.

All in all, a great reverse trap anime that will leave you surprised.

hotaru tachibana

8. Chihiro Fujisaki (Danganronpa)

I never thought that a trap would become something like a programmer or vice versa. In Danganronpa, we have Chihiro Fujisaki who's a computer genius and programmer at Hope's Peak Academy. From time to time, we see the essence of a badass programmer but when he's idle, you would adore the cuteness.

But behind all this cuteness, there lies a lot of pain. When Chihiro was just a kid, he was harassed and bullied, basically told to be a man and be strong. Due to that, he developed an inferiority complex and started to become more like a girl. He thought that if he would act like a girl, no one would bully him, and he would live his life happily ever after.

However, this again worsens the problem by developing constant fear of being found out as a man. It was a total surprise to see when Chihiro revealed himself as a man. We fans were all shocked and left in surprise. But despite the fact that he's a crossdresser, he excels in computer knowledge, making him a genius at such a young age. HE JUST DOESN'T KNOW!

chihiro

7. Souta Takanashi (Working!!! (2010))

Souta Takanashi is one of the main characters in this series. He is a 16-year-old young boy who works at a restaurant to pay the bills. When we talk about Souta's appearance, he's a tall, slim, and athletic-looking boy with brown hair.

But when he changes his persona, everything changes. His brown hair resides under the pink vivid hair with cute bangs on the forehead. In this persona, he loves everything cute and easily gets emphasized if anything cute is nearby. But there's a catch. Souta hates everyone over the age of 12 and would call them ugly whenever someone is near him.

All in all Souta Takanashi is another trap that would make you develop an interest in the series.

souta

6. Honjō Kamatari (Rurouni Kenshin)

Honjo Kamatari is a genius in disguise. Why disguise? Due to the fact that he's a trap with a female appearance. Throughout the series, Honjo is shown to be very flirty and would take each and every benefit of his womanly status that would often give him trouble or make him stay away from the trouble.

The anime revolves around a samurai who has promised not to kill anyone. Honjo Kamatari is a man disguised as a woman, making him a trap. He loves his trap personality that makes everything so convenient and easygoing for him. His cross-dressing is on a whole other level. Whenever he reveals his true gender in the series, he surprises everyone, every, single, time.

However, when it's time for fighting, you wouldn't stand a chance as his powers are rather great. He has incorporated a scythe in his arsenal, making him a tough competition for whoever is going to fight him.

Another instance where the main character is surprisingly strong, intelligent, and trap.

honjo

5. Gasper Vladi (High School DxD)

Gasper Vladi is one of the main characters of High School DxD. Even though he is a male, his appearance makes him look like a female.

As Gasper is an androgynous-looking male, he wears the Kuoh Academy girls' uniform that looks extremely cute on him. Gasper is a shut-in and is a coward by nature. Throughout the series, Gasper goes through several changes and becomes braver and more confident.

gasper

4. Astolfo (Fate/Grand Order)

Astolfo is one of the most attractive trap anime characters ever made. He has beautiful pink hair with an attractive body that makes him look just like any other anime girl. Astolfo loves to crossdress due to the fact that he's into cute stuff.

Therefore, when it comes to cuteness, Astolfo wouldn't go as far as to changing his own gender to become cuter. A lot of anime fans do love Astolfo and once they find out that he's not a girl, a lot of those fans do get disappointed too.

When it comes to his personality, Astolfo is fairly optimistic but dumber at times. Due to the fact that he's a spirit, he would love to be in the physical form so that he can crossdress as well. But when we talk about his eagle riding abilities, things get interesting. Despite the fact that he is portrayed as a girl spirit in the anime, you would be surprised to see how powerful he becomes when he gets all flustered up. We suggest you stay away from the madness that would come if you made him angry!

We give Astolfo a solid 10/10 for being one of the most attractive traps of all time.

3. Mako-chan (Minami-ke)

Full name, Makoto. He's the dumb character of the series as he is often bashed for being the dumbest in his class. At the beginning of this series, he develops a keen interest in Chiaka Minami and gets a crush on her. Therefore, he is told to come to her house by becoming a girl. Due to his huge love for Chiaka, he accepted the proposal only to know that only hardships await him.

Mako chan is his alternate persona and he's one of the best utilized cross-dressing traps we've seen in a while. However, he actually enjoys being a crossdresser but his wildness couldn't be controlled by the female dressing.

Things got a bit uncomfortable when Chiaka started developing a keen interest in Mako-chan and tried to get close to him as well. This made Mako-chan a lot more uncomfortable as he's hiding his true identity as a boy. Moreover, Chiaka also started to consider Mako-chan as the ideal girl and someone that she adores.

We are starting to see where this story is going, right? I hope this doesn't become a scissor fighting anime, anymore. A great portrayal of a trap anime character.

mako-chan

2. Neferpitou (Hunter X Hunter)

If you ever watched Hunter X Hunter, you must know what disappointment we all went through. Pitou is a cat-humanoid form of chimera ant in the series and also one of the main villains in the series too. He has the appearance of a cat, making him look just like a girl. With a blue coat and tight shorts, no one would ever imagine that he could be a boy.

Having ruby red eyes, silver hair, and a personality that screams 'I'm innocent' can make a lot of people fall in love with Pitou. What made me intrigued was the fact that his hands were rather large in the series. We all know how small a girl's hands are (please don't kill me).

Even though everyone assumes that Pitou is a female, we are giving this crazy theory that he's a boy. It just makes better sense, overall. Even though for many people, Pitou serves as the waifu, we have this gut feeling that he's a boy. NOTHING IS CONFIRM BUT IT JUST MAKES A LOT OF SENSE. Do let us know your thoughts on it too.

1. Emporio Ivankov (One Piece)

Something like Emporio Ivankov makes it to the 1 on our list. He is a commander of the revolutionary army who looks like a total potato in his true form. In his trap persona, he becomes a large-sized curvy woman who fooled everyone, initially in the series. Due to the most revealing clothes, no one could even take a guess at whether he was a boy.

Emporio Ivankov loves to crossdress and therefore, he is often mistaken for being a girl. But what is that power that makes him turn his gender, totally? As the fans know, the devil fruit in the series poses different powers to different characters. For Emporio, it was the ability to change his hormones and his power was to manipulate his hormones so that he could look like a girl.

However, aside from being a trap, Emporio also possesses the power to change other's gender. YAY!! Free GENDER BENDING ABILITY. Emporio is definitely one of the most impressive traps that we've seen in the series.

Conclusion

So far, we have discussed around 31+ anime trap characters with different stories and different characteristics. We tried to be as diverse as possible so that we can include some of the most popular traps from different types of anime genres.

As traps continue to grow, we can expect an increase in the whole anime industry. We wouldn't be able to stop the trap culture as it has been normalized to a point where we see an anime trap in almost every series.

We hope that you liked our list. With so many trap anime characters, which one was your favourite, and what anime series are you going to watch next? Let us know in the comment section below.
